Bonnie J. Lewis Design is a national award-winning design firm based in Scottsdale, Arizona, known for expertise in luxury bath, kitchen, and interior design with an emphasis on functionality, safety, wellness, and longevity, helping clients enjoy homes that are both beautiful and suited for all stages of life – including aging comfortably at home. Each project is tailored to the client’s preference, not a signature style of the firm.

We intentionally design to preserve independence and boost longevity, which is especially important for those 55+. Features we incorporate into our designs enable homes to accommodate homeowners through retirement for aging in place, a capability that 99% of U.S. homes are not ready for, according to a Harvard Housing Study.

Bonnie J. Lewis is the principal of Bonnie J. Lewis Design. She is a degreed interior designer and a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) through the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Her specialized training, experience, expertise, and talent is evident in making design more functional without compromising beauty. Bonnie is known as the go-to expert for luxury aging in place design, which some refer to as Universal Design.

Bonnie’s distinctive work has earned over 50 National and Regional design and remodel design excellence awards since 2013 from respected organizations, including the National Association of Home Builders, the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), HGTV, and Qualified Remodeler.

Other esteemed honors include being named a 2022 Arizona Top Designer by Iconic Life, 2021 ASID Best of Show for Commercial, a 2020 Innovator Honoree by Kitchen & Bath Design News, and Designer of the Year by The Tile Shop in 2017.

Bonnie’s work has been featured in numerous publications, including Modern Luxury Scottsdale magazine, Iconic Life magazine, Phoenix Home & Garden magazine, and Taunton’s New Bathroom Idea book.

As an established and respected member of the design community, Bonnie has been honored to judge design competitions across the country, including the Dallas Home Builders Association, Sophisticated Living St. Louis magazine’s SOPHI Awards, more than 20 chapters of the American Society of Interior Designers, the Environments for Aging Remodel Awards, and the ASID Arizona North Chapter Student Charrette. She gives back to the community through speaking engagements, volunteering at church, ASID, and Habitat for Humanity. Bonnie also served on the Board of Directors for PASRS, a non-profit senior industry organization.
